Advocate and Chronic Illness Warrior
While I didn’t set out looking to be an “advocate,” being an advocate sort of found me. Sometimes life just sort of works out that way. With a MA in Education, I was a middle school teacher for the better part of 15 years before my psoriatic arthritis diagnosis, followed shortly by my rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. Not to be outdone by endometriosis and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis in my younger years. Suffice to say, I’m sort of a walking, talking autoimmune disaster.
Work with Health Union
Much of my advocacy work started with Health Union, a company that I simply can’t say enough amazing things about. To date, I’ve contributed over 250 articles on Psoriatic-Arthritis.com alone.
Smiles and Sundays has come a long way since its inception waaaaay back in 2014.

Hello All! Welcome to Smiles and Sundays! I hope you pour a cup of coffee and stay awhile. This is where you will find information and inspiration for all the wonderful things that come with Sunday…This is a home and family first blog dedicated to faith, family, and fun.
I’m a wife and mother of 3 young children who loves to have the kids pull up a chair a bake a batch of cookies together. Smiles and Sundays is dedicated to the things I am most passionate about: faith, family time, education, projects, and all things food and home. I firmly believe in raising children with love, respect, and a healthy dose of humor. I hope you stop by often to see what’s going on every Sunday at my house.
After recent diagnoses of both psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, I began to focus on offering support and encouragement to parents everywhere trying to manage parenting while living with a chronic illness.
Peace & Love,
~Leanne
