Crock Pot Cream Cheese and Ranch Chicken Recipe

As most of you know, I’m not technically a food blogger but I do love to share a great recipe. I decided for this little number that I wanted a filling Sunday night dinner. Something easy using only what I already had here-no trips to Kroger for this gal. So I got to thinking, what is better than ranch, cream cheese, and sour cream all together? I’ve got your answer…nothing! Throw in a crock pot and this has “Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!” written all over it. So I pulled everything out and decided to give it a go.

It came out so delicious and creamy. So, I served it over noodles (which darling hubby made because I can’t manage egg noodles to save my life). It paired nicely with broccoli and a biscuit (cheater Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Recipe -give it a try, awesome!).

Crock Pot Cream Cheese and Ranch Chicken Recipe

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound skinless chicken breast
  • 1 package of cream cheese (very soft)
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 tub (small) of sour cream
  • 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix
  • mushrooms (optional)

Directions:

  1. Grab your crock pot and add your liner (can’t live without those).
  2. Melt half a stick of butter in the microwave.
  3. Add your chicken to the crock pot and slowly pour the butter over it.
  4. Cube half of your softened cream cheese block and add to the crock pot.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours.
  6. In a standing mixer, add the rest of the butter (1/2 stick), the rest of the cream cheese (cubed), the entire tub of sour cream, and the ranch packet.
  7. Mix on medium high for several minutes until mostly blended.
  8. Pour the mixture over the chicken and stir to combine. (add mushrooms here if you’d like)
  9. Cook on high for another 1.5-2 hours.
  10. Pull the chicken out and check for done.
  11. Use two forks to shred the chicken and place it back in crock pot to be served over egg noodles.

Sounds pretty good. Do you cook the chicken before you put it in?

Nope, go ahead and put the chicken in raw. I can’t handle crock pot recipes that require cooking before putting it in the crock pot to cook! Lol! ?. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did.
