When it comes to finding new ways to manage chronic pain, there is very little out there that I haven’t tried. I’ve changed my diet, increased my exercise with gentle yoga, added CBD oil (vape and drops) to my medications, and tried a TENs unit. I’ve had great success with some things like CBD and limited success with others, like the TENs unit. But as a whole, nothing has changed my experience (and even my family’s experience) of chronic pain management like PEMF therapy.
What is PEMF therapy?
Technically, PEMF therapy stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. Now, if you have been a follower of my blog for a while, or know me personally, then you probably know that science hasn’t always been my strong suit. More often than not, it feels like a foreign language and it takes a lot of effort to sift through the information and get down to the brass tax, as they say. Here is the “official information.”
How PEMF Works
When cells become distressed from disease, trauma or toxins, they lose their ability to function efficiently. PEMF restores the positive and negative charges in the cell, enabling it to perform its natural function while speeding tissue recovery.
What the heck does all that mean and how is it a new way to manage chronic pain?
Well, I’m sure you are wondering what all that really means. I know for a long time I was. So, here is what it comes down to. No matter what is ailing you, you have a cold, a broken bone, painful swollen joints, or even a headache the root of that pain, on a cellular level, is inflammation. PEMF therapy frees the cell from the inflammation, allowing it to better function, free of inflammation and disease.
Think of it this way, you are in a sinking boat, with water (inflammation) all around. PEMF therapy is the bucket that gets the water out of the boat, allowing it to stay afloat and dry. The more you use the bucket, the faster you will bail the water out of the boat.
What PEMF therapy isn’t
Using PEMF therapy as a new way to manage chronic pain isn’t a pill. It isn’t a TENs unit. It isn’t prescribed by a doctor. It isn’t a quick fix or a pie-in-the-sky solution. But, it is just now becoming more accessible to you and I.
The Oska Pulse
About a year ago, I was given the Oska Pulse to use and review in it’s application to managing my chronic PsA and RA pain. Honestly, I wanted to give it a good, long test to make sure there weren’t other things that would skew the results that I got.
The Oska Pulse is a PEMF therapy device, available to anyone as a new way to manage chronic pain. You can’t feel it working, but it is. You can’t see it working, but it is. It truly is an amazing little device. In coming posts, I will get into much greater detail about my experiences with this device and why I would recommend it for every household, just as much as I recommend having a thermometer or even a band-aid on hand.
Yes, I know you still have BUNCHES of questions. Don’t worry. I was get there soon. But if you know me, you know I don’t recommend ANYTHING lightly. I say something is awesome because I truly believe that it is awesome. And yes, this IS awesome. If you want to get one today, and save a few bucks, follow this link, and enter the coupon code “SUNDAYS.”
Hang nearby your inbox for more details on the Oska Pulse 🙂 and until next time, keep smiling!
